Here the motivation of the jury: "The film succeeds to draw our attention right from the beginning with delicately chosen images and sound. The slow pace gives the audience time to develop a close relationship with the nature and the people of a remote island. The filmmaker found a poetic way to tell about the damages we're causing to the soil to the sea, and to the animals. However the film doesn't leave the audience helpless. On the contrary, we are inspired by the characters that have the strength to go on. Even the title gives us hope. So the Gaia Student Award goes to the Rising of the Setting Sun." The festival is part of the Green Film Network and took place on the small Turkish island of Bozcaada.
